WEEKLY LIFE SKILL HOMEWORK FOR CLASS 2 A,B,C,D DATE 24/7/18 TO 28/7/18

PODAR CELEBRATES
LIFE SKILLS AT HOME WEEK
At Podar we believe that any process of Education is incomplete without learning basic Life Skills. This
current week we would like our students to learn and practice some very important life skills at home.
Parents/grandparents are requested to help the child learn these skills and complete the task under
supervision. We shall appreciate if parents/grandparents can send us their observations in the
feedback form which will be sent by school shortly. Day wise activities are mentioned below:

1. Day 1 -TUESDAY: Task: Comb your own hair neatly without any help from others. (Girls can
practiSe making pony tails/piggy tails/plaits as applicable)
LIFE SKILL POINTS EARNED:
A) Importance of neat hair and being presentable
B). Importance of doing hair independently.

2. Day 2- WEDNESDAY: Task: Make your own bed and make bed for other members of your
family. (Child to learn to set/arrange pillows, spread/straighten a bed sheet, fold
covers/blankets etc)
LIFE SKILL POINTS EARNED:
A) Importance of resting well on a properly made up bed
B) Importance of making bed independently
C) Helping parents in making bed on a daily basis

Day 3- THURSDAY: Task: Set/arrange your school bag for the next day according to Time Table . (Child
to learn how to read through the time table of a particular day and keep books, note books in bag
accordingly)
LIFE SKILL POINTS EARNED:
A) Importance of learning to arrange own school bag
B) Inportance of becoming independent in a daily task like packing school bag and thus helping
parents.

Day 4-FRIDAY:Task: Wash your hankerchief/napkin/pair of socks ( Learning how to wash a soiled
napkin, a dirty pair of socks with a detergent soap, rinsing with water, squeezing the water out, laying
it out on clothes line for drying, securing with clothes clips)
LIFE SKILL POINTS EARNED:
A) Importance of learning to wash daily use clothing accessories
B) Importance of learning to do hands on activities and gaining independence.

Day 5 –FRIDAY: Task: Wash the utensils you have used. ( Learning to clean the plates, bowls, glass,
spoon etc that the child uses for eating)
LIFE SKILL POINTS EARNED:
A) Importance of learning the skill of cleaning utensils so to support mother at home when
needed.
B) Importance of being independent in doing daily life chores

Day 6-SATURDAY: Culminating Task: Arrange a dry snacks party for your family members (The
child learns to organize, arrange and cater for his family members. The child can be provided with
dry snacks items and taught to arrange those in bowls and plates and then personally invite all in
the family and play host for this week end party. The child can also be supported if the child
wants to play music and wants to have dance for fun.)
LIFE SKILL POINTS EARNED:
A) Importance of extending care for family members
B) Importance of learning to be a good host.

Day 7- SUNDAY: Task: Parents to interview their child and with the help of feedback from the child
and based upon their own observation, Feedback sheet to be filled.
Final Note: Parents can ask their child to do these activities at home regularly considering the valuable


Life Skill points earned through them.
